What's So Special In This Photo?

Thu Sep 27, 2001 11:13 pm

This photo is taken by me.

Can you tell me what makes it so interesting that it has been viewed more than 4000 times?

Have you seen it on some other site or have you seen any links to it?

This photo is great! I love it but you've got 4000 hits probably from other site  Smile

My favorite airplanes are B737-200/100's and all Fokkers. The only Fokker I havent seen in my life is F70. Maybe one day  Smile

Pekka,
I don't know why it's looked at so much, but can you tell me what the white line on door #2 of the building in the background is?

Fokker 50!!! My favourite aircraft.

Lindy you are unlucky, KLM Cityhopper schedual an F70 5 times a day to BRS next year, so you should come here  Big grin

Or AMS...

Its a good picture, but the hits are most likely from a link from another site.

Like F70's? You should come to the birthplace of them, Holland! Amsterdam has a lot of them (KLM Cityhopper, British Midland). And then there is Woensdrecht. This is the maintenance site of Fokker Services. Mostly F29 but sometimes also a F70. A few weeks ago there was even a Pelita F70.

Yes, I love Fokkers. Unfortunatly we dont have them here in US. This summer I will go to BRU to meet with my European friends (spotters) they promissed me to take to DUS, AMS and CDG.
What about Rotterdam? Osted? Hamburg? are they very far from BRU??

I have no idea what that line in door #2 is. It, however, does exist because it's in the real image also.

Well, I have choice. Northern Europe or Eastern Europe.
Belgium-Holland-Germany-France or Poland-Slovakia-Czech-Austria-Hungary.

I still have time to decide.
Does Malev is using F70's??????

Pekka,

It also happens to me. I've a couple of photos with 4000 or even 6000 views without knowing the reason as they are nothing special...

A nice occasion to mention that we once had a Fokker at my local airport.  Smile They don't fly here anymore now though.  Sad

Nice to hear you liked us Lubcha132. Big grin

For Lindy,
Rotterdam and Ostend aren't that far from Brussel. Hamburg is a bit further, but can probably be done in a day. Rotterdam doesn't have all that much to offer. There is a Balkan An-12 stationed though. Other than that there is VLM (F50) and some Dutch airliners (transavia 737, KLM ATR/F50, TTA F50) and charters.
Ostend is great and has some of the best freighters. Hamburg has Airbus!
Perhaps you can ask your friends to go to Woensdrecht (NL). It is the maintenance and storage site of the Fokker jets. There are mostly F28s. Ussualy there are some 15 to 20 Fokkers. The photographic opportunities are limited though. Maybe interesting for a short stop while going to Rotterdam?

Have fun, I am sure you wil!

Yeah but they are very nosy!!!! When i lived there the only thing people did as they walked past our house to the beach was look in the windows Big grin So we put notices in the window saying "Piss off" and "don't look in here, look down at the dog sh*t you are about to step in", the latter worked very well!!!

Should be in Beadles about  Smile

To be honest, at schiphol watching all the F50's, F70's and F100's of KLM Cityhopper and KLM UK get very boring.

And for anyone who has every been there on a cloudy day, seeing an F70 or F100 coming out of the clouds for the first time you think its something huge like a 777 or 747...

You can work out why Big grin

So many shameless plugs in this thread!

Regards

Dan
