Spotting In HNL

Fri Oct 19, 2001 3:22 am

I'll be on Oahu for a week and have a free day to spend when I get there so was wondering if the end of Lagoon Drive is still a viable spot to take pictures. What is the general atmosphere in regards to picture taking in and around the airport? I have a 400mm lens so don't need to get TOO close!  Smile
Thanks much in advance...

bad news my friend, lagoon drive is roadblocked and you must have a company ID (such as CO, or skychefs, etc... other hangars down there) in order to get past, i have a friend at the CO hangar and he wasnt able to get me past...

the terminal is still pretty good in terms of indoor photography, light isnt always too good though...

anyway, i was just there about a week and a half ago and just decided to enjoy the island without spotting this time... i would suggest just being satisfied with the same. If you like photography in general, there is no better place than hawaii!! the opportunities are endless!!

go to sand island or ala moana park at sunset and you'll get some awesome shots! trust me, bring the camera, but skip the airport!

Thanks Chris,
Nice pics. In fact I saw your earlier post from march saying a 3 mile walk would get some good pics, almost sent you an email regarding that! I will try to take some from inside the airport while its still possible. Anyway I will enjoy Oahu regardless, I lived there (Schoefield barracks) for 4 years when I was a little kid so this will be my first visit back in more than 20 years!

Best regards,
Daniel
