Cleaning Up Nikon Coolscan III

Mon Oct 22, 2001 7:12 am

As a result of being bored, I opened up my Coolscan III and noticed some dust on the lens. After cleaning that up with a lens cleaning paper.. what a surprise. Scans were MUCH MUCH sharper and better exposed!

So check your scanner optics frequently.. it's worth it!

Jernej
I seriously think I just creamed my pants without any influence from any outside variables.

I used kodak cleaning paper wrapped around a pencil. Very easy..

I did the same with the mirror about one month ago. Results were good enough to make me forget the idea of buying the Coolscan IV.

I made the cleaning with a soft photography cloth.

Now I always remove the slide adapter and close the door after use.
