Too close to the price of a D30? After all, it is a fixed lens camera

Yes, I had one, and then got a D30 and sold it.

The E10 is a great camera - but I didn't find it too good for aviation photography. I guess if you are a ramp shooter, the high quality short zoom lens and 4mp resolution would mean it suited you just fine (apart from the fact you would want to be shooting Kodachrome!) For me, I found it was neither fast enough nor versatile enough. The lens is equivalent to a 140mm at the long end, and although you can buy two Olympus extenders to give you more focal length, these are both large and cumbersome, and do not allow you to zoom out without giving vignetting once they are fitted.

I really enjoyed taking the E10 on holiday with me - I just didn't enjoy using it at the airport.

I was looking at getting one earlier year, but couldn't justify that kind of money for:

1 - a fixed lens camera

2 - Lackluster image quality. For nearly two grand, the images were way too noisy (in my opinon)

There is an E-20 now, but it's still a fixed lens camera. Haven't taken the time to look at any samples though...
