HP Scanjet 4400c/4470c

Wed Nov 07, 2001 3:51 am

Hello all!
I recently have switched to digital. As the events of 9/11 have stopped my spotting, I am trying to catalog all of my old prints and slides. I have yet to get a scanner for either format and was wondering if anyone has the HP4400/4470 series of flatbed scanner with transperancy adapter. How is the adapter(I have more slides than prints) and how is the resolution of both? I really want to avoid the expensive purchase of a slide scanner!

What is the cheapest slide scanner you can get in the US?
Isn't there one called the "Pacific 1800" or something like that?
I have the the FilmSCAN/Jessops imported equivalent in the UK.
I would suggest that would be far better than any flatbed with an adaptor.

I'm not sure about the cheapest 100% slide scanner. I saw one the other day and it looked very cheesy. No list of features, no display, nothing. It looked as though someone had dropped it off there!!! Most of the ones I've seen by name companies start around $400 and go into the thousands!
