It's an oldy so excuse the quality, but I just love it!

The pilot really held the nose high after landing, it just kept going higher and higher and it really looked like it would "tailscrape" on landing.....no easy feat I'm sure!

My favorite shot... at my favorite spot (it also need some rescanning). I hope this spot at about 40 meter from the runway will still be accessible in the future...

Calgary is a DRY DRY City.. Not enuf humidity to create much of a decent smoke.

Bo, smoke of touchdowns is caused by dry dry runways, not by humidity. So Calgary is good for smokey touchdowns.

Dorval's not great for touchdown shots except under rare circumstances but here's the best that I've managed to do. Unfortunately the sun went behind a cloud just before this plane touched down:

I am glad that there are folks out here who also love smoky touchdown shots . . . and I just wanted to share with you my favourite personal shot:

http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/1145/F-GCBH-001.jpg

There are many in Airliners.net and I frankly found it hard to choose just one favourite. To all those who held their breath to capture this smoky moment and share it with us, here's a big "Thank You".

I love this because it's the only time I've seen a 707 landing.

It's also the first 707 in this thread...  Smile

I think MIA is good for those photos because of all the rain it gets. Good pics though.

I've tried a few from the "looking down the runway" angle, but never been completely satisfied with the results. This is about the best I've come up with, but I've never uploaded it here as I fear it would be rejected because of the distortion caused by the heat haze... But see what you think, anyway.

Chris - I think you should try uploading that down the runway shot - I think the heat distortion makes the pic - really atmospheric and evocative.
