With these, I also found 2 original BOAC Inspection Approvals for the B707-400 dated 5/17/66. He was a radio mechaninc... I also have some of his US Radio Licenses...

The only thing i see those being rejected for, is the "not horizontal" bit. But tilting the pic in the scanner would solve that quickly. Hope they get added anyway.  Smile

Jeremy, how old do you think the pictures to be? Apparently they are taken in a museum. In the left background on picture 1 and 3 you see Lake LA4 Buccaneer N6105V. That little flying boat was build ca. 1976. So the pictures can only be taken in that year or later.

Also, the tailgun on the B-25 in shot #2 looks to have been replaced by a black stick.
Make that late 1970s, maybe a Confederate AirForce gathering or something similar.

I put on the form mid-1980s. I thought the pics would have a description on them, but all they had was the number from the roll. I tried to figure out the reg #, but I just couldn't make it out... the searches from what I could make out that were DC-2s were definitely not the right plane.

The B-25 on the left is N30801 ex 44-30801 "USAAF 430801/Executive Sweet" of the American Aeronautical Foundation, Van Nuys CA, USA. Because there are two other B-25's on the right, I think, at taking a closer look, that it is not a museum, but some sort of gathering, fly-in or warbird show.
I'll do further research into the identity of the DC2.

The DC-2-118B is N1934D/NC1934D c/n 1368, that was preserved in the Air & Space Collection of the Museum of Flight, Seattle. Their website mentions that it is not currently on display and not currently located at the museum. In May 2001 it was visited by a team of the Aviodome from Amsterdam-Schiphol (this museum has DC-2 NC39165/PH-AJU) somewhere in the Los Angeles area, where the Douglas Historical Foundation is restoring it. They expect it will soon take to the air again. The plane is technically ready, but a huge amount of paperwork is still required.

Jeremy,
although this information still doesn't give you a date and location for your grandfather's pictures, I hope it is of interest to you.
