Bad Pictures

All the pictures, that are not really good, perhaps a little out of focus, badly exposed or not really nice to look at in general. What do you do with these shots? Do you throw them away or do you keep them??
Or are all your photos perfect?  Smile

I still keep them, because you can learn from them. I keep everything scanned and on film.

As I shoot digital I have three catagories.

1) Shots I really like or are really good which I burn onto CD

2) Nice/good shots but not my favourites or the best quality - I keep just on my hard drive

3) In my view not good photos or I cant seem to edit them well enough to make them look good, I delete

Unless its truly awful, I'll keep it a) for reference purposes and b) possible use in other graphic forms - for example, an otherwise good but slightly out of focus shot might make an excellent blurred background in, say, a powerpoint presentation.

I save all the edited pictures which are accepted by airliners.net on my hard drive in my 'photos @ airliners.net' folder.

If images aren't accepted then I put them into my 'not added' folder... Altough, if a picture is just awful I'll kick it into the trashcan  Smile

I keep all photos (I don't photograph digital). Actually, it would be kind of hard to throw away or trash a slide, it feels wrong. Most photos (at least if they show something structure and not only a blank frame) tell you something or show something. Even though you don't like the angle or the composition it could be nice to have a couple of years from now. It can attain a historical, cultural value. Of course, I'm speaking of photography in general and not only aviation photography.

Hi Staffan
When i have the regi , i do the picture away, when i have the regi not i hold the pictures.
I have a field in my database with comments like out of focus , to dark etc.
