Digital Cameras Onboard?

Mon Dec 17, 2001 3:18 am

You know how they say to turn off any electronics when you take off? Well I want to take some pictures of Denver Int'l . So my question is Am I allowed for the Digital camera to be turned on at time of take-off or not???

I use mine, and plan to plead ignorance if I am ever challenged.

What about watches -- do you remove the batteries to turn them off?

I actually did some video shooting (with a digital camera) out from an Avro's window. It was easy, thanks to the LCD finder.

Hi there,

On a recent SR ZRH-GRU-GIG flight, I wanted to video the take-off with my digital camera but was told to turn it off  Sad 1st time that ever happened to me. But it might have been because I was in the 1st row, close to the galley at door 2, so it might have been a little more obvious than it usually is.

Yeah,I want to take pictures of when I'm taking off and they usually say to turn electronics off. I don't know what I'll do yet, but keep on posting and thanks for your help!

I'm not sure, but I was once asked by an Alitalia F/A, on the way to the flight deck, if it was a digital camera I was using since they would not allow that.

I had no problems on a recent trip from DFW->MCO (AA) while taking photographs during takeoff and landing. Other than the rude eldery lasy sitting next to me, I had no complaints from the flight crew.
