Hey Aaron--

I'm not the perfect scanner of images or photographer, but I have a few guidelines for myself that I go by that might help.

Photo 1 specifically: the horizon is a little crooked. Look for the line on the ramp and then compare it to the frame of the scan itself. The lines should be parallel.

In general, photos 1 and 3 are worth touching up. Photos 2 and 4 would be redundant and the point of view in photo 2 doesn't really warrant an upload, in my opinion. (Photo 3: the upper-right stabilizer does have that jagged edge look.)

It's all subjective. But a great idea for night photography and a great plane to try on!

Cheers,

Aaron,

great shots, but I would only upload one of them (the best of course Big grin, in my opinion #3) because if you have viewed one, the others look kind of boring as they have nearly the same motif. Do you have photographed any other aircraft during that night? I would love to see more shots!
But, why do you first upload your shots and then ask for our opinion? Please, upload them first to another server. The queue is long enough!

Kind regards,

i like those shots!! great job man...

sometimes i 'half-upload' shots to a.net...just to get the URL of the bigger image so that i can paste it and what not...so you're just getting the URL of the image, but not uploading the photo...

Jonathan do you really think its ok to waste storage space which could sure be used for better purposes?
I bet there are enough sites around where you can get free webspace for "just uploading pictures to get an URL" .

I agree with Peter, that doesn't show respect and good ethics for the site and other photographers.

....hmm....maybe a good call... but I wouldn't say it's a waste of storage space.... if it is, why does a.net pass the rejected shots into the 'rejected shots' bin where they can be viewed after they've been rejected.
Crazy?

That's what I call a waste of storage space!

I usually post my stuff on Airpics.com (they'll practically accept anything), so if I need to get feedback on a picture I submitted here, I can refer to that link.

1# BTW... I like your LJ shots Aaron, I wish I could get night shots like that.

2# to MDL_777 ; Airpics.com (they'll practically accept anything)
Doesn't that tell you something?
The benchmark is here. I got a few knocked back today.....just keep improving...

This is the Aviation Photography forum.
Good luck guys!

The first doesn't look too level with the ground. I really like #3 though. Awsome pics anyways. What kind of camera?

Guys, the pics were taken at 01:30 a.m with the Sony DSC-F707 at a 10 second exposure. Remind you that this was in pitch darkness where i took the pics... No flash... It just gathered all the light possible, which was at least 100 ft away or more.

Yes i know they are a little uneven, but i will work on that for next time. This was my first attempt at a night exposure shot..wasn't paying attention at the ground coordination.

Also to look at those same pics or other AirNet pictures please visit Http://www.denverspotting.com I also have pics of AirNets newest Cessna Caravan up there.. Night exposures as well.

Beautiful shots Aaron, but you need to correct the Cessna. It's a 208.

EDIpic: I agree with you 100%. I've got eight here on this site, and hopefully more on the way. If I get something accepted here, then I know it must be good because the standards are so high, and that forces me to take better pictures, which I like.

I was just throwing that out as a suggestion - putting your pictures on another site if you don't have a web page or anything. That way, you don't upload a borderline picture, and then say, "gee, will this get accepted" and clog up the queue.
