Uploading Using AOL

Sat Mar 16, 2002 12:52 pm

In many instances, the quality of what I was sending to a.net via AOL (America Online) was not making it to the upload screen. Thanks to a comment by Tom Hildreth, I found that AOL typically compresses internet graphics, apparently both to and from internet sites. There is a way to fix this problem, as follows:
-select (click on) "settings" at the top menu bar
-select "preferences" next
-select "organization"
-select "internet properties"
-select "web graphics"
-select "never compress graphics"
I hope that this removes some of the frustration of creating a good sharp scan which seems to go all blurry after arrival at the a.net upload screen. You probably want to remember to turn off "never compress graphics" after you're done uploading. Hope that this helps!
