Getting Photos Onto The Database

Sat Mar 30, 2002 9:36 am

I have read the upload FAQ and I still have a question about uploading photos, as I have not tried yet. Presuming that my photos are good enough to get accepted - I was wondering at what resolution I should scan my photos?? I would like the best chance of acceptance. I used a high resolution 1304 (not sure of the unit) and it makes the file size too big! Around 2.04mb in jpeg format. Can somebody tell me if this is a normal file size as I presume it is too big. Can anyone recommend a better resolution or offer any advice on getting photos accepted.
Cheers

When I scan slides or negs at 2820 dpi I end up with a TIFF file of about 50mb, after fixing it up and resizing it to 1024 pixels wide and saving as jpg with no compression, the file is about 600-700 kb.

Hope that helps!
