Home Page Trouble

Sun Mar 31, 2002 12:17 am

When I come to Airliners.net, I used to get a notice about how many new photos have been added to the database since my last visit. I don't get that anymore, the home page acts like I am a visitor. Any ideas on what caused this to change? Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can e-mail me off line at jaydavis8@attbi.com

Thanks !

Hey,

I have the same problems. Every 10 days, this happens to me. I restore it always, but 2 weeks later...

It says always 'since your last visit x days ago'
I visit a.net several times a day, so...

It is just the cookie expiring.

Click register and you can sign in by entering your email address, all will be restored.

Maybe Johan can extend the length of the cookie?

I remember something similar occurred a few months ago. Since then I always had some difficulties with this feature (shots are shown twice etc.). As a consequence I now just leave it alone and use the "Advanced Search" to view the new photos. I have no problems now.

Hi all

Count me in as well.

I have spoke to Johan about this a few time. Works for a short while then drops again.

I am a 'clean HD nut' so clear out cookies after every Internet visit.

Would be good if it was permanent.

Anyword from Johan as to when or if this will be fixed?

Thanks to all who have responded so far, I just wanted to make sure I haven't screwed up my computer somehow so that I was the only one having this problem.

Happy Easter to all !

I don't even bother with that cookie as it's screwed up more than it works. Here's what I do: go to advanced search, set the search number to 300 and view latest photos. Whenever I get to something I remember, I stop.

I find it easier than looking through 20 pages with 15 photos each. I can just breeze through 300 at a time and see if something catches my eye. But make sure you have a good internet connection if you do this. It could take a while to download 300 thumbnails on a 56k.

What happened to the cookie though? I guess that is what I am trying to get at. Is Johan ever going to fix it? I have a cable modem, yet I like coming to the site and knowing how many new photos have been uploaded since my last visit. I do go to the advanced search and look at 300 at a time, I just like to know when new stuff has been uploaded.

So how about it Johan, are you ever going to fix this cookie problem?

Thanks !

Johan contacted me, I had removed my cookie from my own hard drive. To get it back, go to the following http://www.airliners.net/register/renew.main and you can get it back also !!

Thanks again Johan !!
