Upload Rate

Fri May 17, 2002 10:07 pm

I know I will get bashed here by the screeners and they will say you moan when we do, you moan when we dont  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

In the last 24hours section it now shows that 873 pictures have been uploaded, many of which will never be viewed by many.

I dont know if you have a problem again but could uploads not be spread out to an even number each day rather than the erratic way in which they are at the moment.

I hope this makes sense

This is clearly the result of only having a few screeners available (3 I think at the moment) to clear the HQ list. Someone has put in a major effort and cleared a large chunk of the backlog.

The problem is, screeners (having, I presume, day jobs) will only have limited opportunities to attack the list. Once screeners in training are released onthe HQ, we will have more screeners across different time zones which should result in a much smoother flow of material.

Cheers,

Colin

Just wondering, Johan, will you have time to attack the re-upload queue soon?

Ahh, my work has been noticed  Smile

I spent a few hours doing hundreds of additions last night. Basically, just deal with it, and we should be back to "normal" numbers soon...

Hi all

I have to say that over the past week I have screened many pictures.......a lot more than normal.

I think this may have been due to Johan giving me a boot up the a** for not screening enough  Sad

My intuition can tell me who is screening my photos when I look at my rejections.

Hi Luis

I haven't rejected any of your pictures lately.

Infact I think I marked some as HQ....sunset/sunrise pics?

So you see.......I do like your pictures.....sometimes  Smile

Anyway, you should be out in the sun and not sitting inside and using the forum. I have an excuse as the weather is bad in Scotland...well Aberdeen anyway  Sad

I'm almost off to the airport Gary, just have to lunch. The weather is incredible here, 23º blue sky, not a single cloud and no haze at all, amazing light, one of those perfect days for photograph landscapes, crystal clear.

Did I made you jealous? he he

I agree with EGBB, I had a few uploaded, and were at the end of the upload.....a shot which would normally get 1000 hits in a few days, got like 200 or so. Oh well though.

What my personal ideal world would be  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

In the last 30 days a total of 6150 pictures have been loaded onto Anet. Some days you may have a dozen or so, others 800+. I understand its all about when screeners can give time etc as to the amount that are uploaded but with an upload average of 200 pictures per day could a "buffer" programe not be written so a maximum of 200 pics per day are allowed? and these spread out over a day.

I know this may be easier said than done, and I am no software expert, but I am sure this would be sensible as it would eradicate the erractic uploads that we have at the moment.

All the very best
