The airshow I was going to on Sunday, June 23 cancelled, so I'm going airplane watching at Nashville on that date instead. If anyone in the vicinity would be interested in hooking up, please send me a message. My e-mail address is listed in my profile.

I think I am going to go spotting at Nashville on thursday or friday this week - my days off. It's a little trip - I live 100mi south but I just unwrapped my D30 today so.........

I went up there a few weeks ago. They used to have a parking lot for viewing but now it is blocked off. I did see a couple cars pull off the little access road next to the parking lot tho. So I did too, and did not see a cop the whole time but some people told me that they eventually do patrol and they will run off any spotters. This spot offered a great view of the north-south runway.

This just goes to show that aircraft spotting/viewing/photography areas really are popular. You cannot keep people away from an airport. Even if you close the viewing area people will find a way to use it. I wish more airports here in the USA were more spotter-friendly.

Do you know any other spotting areas there?

Those bastards! It's okay to sell drugs on every street corner in America, not patrol our borders and offer amnesty to all of the illegal aliens roaming around our country, but it's forbidden to watch airplanes in a location that's designated for just that specific purpose. America has become so paranoid, we should just close all of the transportation facilities, cancel all of the airshows & sporting events, forget about ever seeing our wonderful tourist attractions again and just lock ourselves inside our own homes until we can regain some rational common sense. Our public officials are doing a better job of terrorizing America than the terrorists themselves.

Amen, Mark. Welcome to America, home of the scared, the paranoid, and the free (yeah right). Where good samaritans run free, turning in innocent people for doing no harm, where cops harrass photographers for taking pictures of planes, while a lady is getting mugged on the opposite street corner.

In a nutshell, once people in this country get their heads out of their asses, maybe we can find a way to exist without treating our citizens like sheep in a herd. Bow down to big brother, he knows best....

Hey Mark,

BNA is pretty cool; I live about an hour and a half away (for a C182). Might try to make it out there that day! Might even take Derden too, he might be up for it.

Have a good one!

hey Mark (& Jon)
of course i'm up for it...let's go out there, maybe take mark up there (if he's up for it  Wink/being sarcastic)

we could get some sweet overhead shots of BNA if we go up...maybe get lucky and some shots of something cool landing (from above)

i'll be coming back from the beach the day before, so i'll try and mow early in the morning (if i have to) but then i'll be free to go

by the way, B-24 and B-29 "fifi" are in here at TRI june 17-24 if anyone wants to come out...Bruce I heard you mention TRI a while back.. Wink/being sarcastic
