Info About Photographing At Paris Airports

Tue Jun 11, 2002 5:47 am

In the month of July, me and a few friends are going to make a spotter trip including Zürich-Kloten,
Paris-CDG, Paris-ORY and Paris-LBG.

If it's possible to photograph, we will also visit Chateauroux.

As I can see it, ZRH is no problem at all, we'll stay at the observation deck during our 1-day visit, but information is of course welcomed anyway.

More important is the photo spots at CDG and ORY, especially if there have been any changes to the better/worser.

Are there any changes at LBG?

As none of us has visited Chateauroux in the past, any information is very welcomed, especially about the stored Sabena aircrafts, are they possible to shoot from outside the fence??

Thx in advance!!

A good website with info on CDG and ORY is www.kerozen.org
Some info on CDG is a bit outdated though.

Johan,
You could shoot the SN 340's from across the runway but with a pretty long lens 300-400 (?). Going to Chateauroux seems a waste of time to me.
3 SN 340's
1 Madagascar 742 with slippers on..
1 Transaero A310
1 IB 727
1 CargoLion DC-8 without titles
1 Corseair 747 scrap
1 AF 747
´+ one I already forgot...

www.kerozen.org is indeed the best site for spotting info about CDG and ORY. Info is a bit outdated but most spots are still accessible. The meteo spot is partially fenced off : still possible to take taxi shots with terminal 1 on the background but no more runway-shots. I heard that it is impossible to take pictures from the bridge over the A1 highway also.

For ORY : try the hill in the parc 'la coulé verte' (open between 9am and 5.30pm).

Sven

PS : anybody has info about the CargoLion DC8 at Chateauroux? I heard it has a new reg 4K-AZ25 and will fly for AHC.

Hi Johan!
I have also some tips on my homepage:
http://www.flying-wings.com/main.htm
Not yet from Zürich, but the observation deck there is a good place for spotting, especially in the morning.

Hi man,

In my opinnion , Chateaurox is waste of time. Embarrassment
There´s no worth traffic for spotting. Better stay at CDG / OYE.
OYE have also a good obs. deck. Spotting @ CDG is a little bit complicated.
With a little lens you can spot line ups and landings.
The terminals are also okay for spotting , but you´ll need a boarding pass and you have to photograph with the sun in the back or your photos will be blurred.

see ya,

Spotterb.
