What Do You Think Of These Pics?

Tue Aug 06, 2002 9:48 am

Hi everyone!

These are the first pictures I took. Please let me know what you think...comments...suggestions...tips. Your opinions and help would be very appreciated. They were both taken at Montreal's Dorval International Airport, runway 24R. I'd also like to know if you think they'd make it onto airliners.net.

Thanks,

Benoit Imbeault

Both photos are backlit and grainy. Try to take the photos of the sunny-side of the plane, it comes out a lot better.

I noticed with the 744 that it only takes up a part of the photo, if you take the photo so the plane fills the photo (ie- full frame), then the scanned version will be cleared than it is currently.

Light it up a bit, sharpen it a bit... (maybe better to get a better scanner?) I think their pretty though... for a beginner. Keep up the good work!

Hey guys,

Thanks for your thoughts on the pictures. Clickhappy, I am using a Kodak Dx3600 2.2 MP digital camera. However I do have an SLR I can use but last time I was having trouble with the shutter. Any tips for the digital or SLR camera?( the SLR is a Pentax SP 1000 with a wide-angle lense and a 110 mm telephoto)

Rendezvous and Schreiner, I totally agree with what you said. But the closest spotting area that I have found does not permit me to take pictures on the sunny-side of incoming aircraft ( the planes end up too close and there is an ad sign in the way). Is there a way the airport security will let me onto airport grounds? Or do I need special clearance etc.? As for the framing I'm working on it  Smile

If anyone can help me on anything I would be extremely grateful  Smile

Thank You,

Benoit

Hey,

Have you ever heard about this place next to rwy 6R/24L ? You can get as close as 200 feet from the runway, it's pretty wild. It's in a parking lot on 55th Ave.
