Question About Using Zoom Lense On Digital Cam

Fri Aug 09, 2002 9:35 am

Hello all. Yesterday I received a TC-E2 Nikon 2x Telephoto Converter for my Coolpix 5000. I took a couple of pictures with it today. Here they are (note, the files are about 700k each):

As you can see in the photos, certain aspects of the photo have great detail, but there are some serious "jaggies" esp. on the cheatlines...the focal length? was 170mm.

Is this a result of the camera moving when I snapped the shot(s)? I read the manual and I have the camera set to use the zoom, but am disapointed with the results.

Any ideas?

Thanks

It's the heat from the tarmach causing the "jaggies" as you call them. Don't shoot at long focal lengths just over the ground when it's warm and you won't have that problem.

It probably looked worse in Seattle because there's more humidity there. LAS might be a tad better, but it get's really hot there!
