Double Photo On A.net

Thu Sep 05, 2002 4:12 pm

This is a very nice shot Joe!  Big thumbs up

But those are doubles. The dates may be different but the clouds and everything are the same in both photos. Have a look.

Please either contact Joe or a.net directly about these matters, do not post a new thread about it

Yes this is a common fault.

Joe is mastering Photoshop. This is a result of using the cloning tool  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I can assure you this was an accidently double upload as Joe would have been hard Pressed to upload this photo just once given how crappy it is

Only kidding of course

LGW,
Why wouldn't Je89 be allowed to post a new thread about things like this,
in my opinion you seem to start new threads about just everything or am I wrong?

Because it is standard protocol and just downright NICE to contact the photographer first. It has been discussed before. Most photographers would act straight away when advised of an indescretion ( Guilty of not doing what I just said but I will work on it)

I think that one is an example of how a good scan and a bad scan can be different.

It also shows that Joe was from the beginning a excellent photographer. He just had to learn to scan  Wink/being sarcastic

Also, with 1600+ pics in the database, it becomes difficult to check for duplicates. (no risk of those for me, with only ... 6 pics  Laugh out loud)

Hi guys,

If you find a double (I do regularly as well), the best thing to do is to inform both the photographer and Andrew Davies, the Corrections Editor. Andrew will remove one of the two.

Don't be too harsh on the double uploader, when you have a lot of photos on the site it can happen to everybody. Although we appreciate a little care  Smile

Hi

Emailing me when you spot a double is the best (and speediest) solution to the problem - just use the 'Contact Us' form via the link at the bottom of every page (best), or notify me of the relevant photo numbers by submitting a "correction" on one of them (next best).

There are dozens of duplicates in the database - none of which have been intentionally loaded as such. I appreciate it very much when users let me know of these doubles; but please make use of the communication methods mentioned above - I don't regularly read this forum, and wouldn't have known about this thread if Peter Vercruijsse hadn't emailed me (Thanks, Peter). So it's not a productive exercise to post duplicates here, and I doubt the majority of the regulars on this forum appreciate it as it's not the purpose of this forum.
