Nice photo by Jorge -

I speak with Jorge now and then - he is a very nice fellow - he is an art teacher at a college in Mexico City. I like this photo - don't know about what effect was used...

Maybe Jorge will tell us? Yo, Jorge - are you in the house?

A circular polarizer is used on mostly sunny days. Without going into too much detail, it allows one to "play" with certain reflections and either maximize or minimize those reflections for a desired effect.

Photogs, was that a decent explanation?

Also, when you go to Disney World and put on 3 D glasses, those are polaroids but they are working in a different fashion to allow you to appreciate 3-D movies.

Hi,
Thanks guys for your comments.
Yes I attached a Kenko circular polarizer filter to my Olympus C-2100UZ digital camera. Then corrected brightness and contrast in my Mac.
That C-2100 camera got a nice 10x OPTICAL zoom and although it is 2.1 megapixels, it gives really nice images.

Those billboards in the background belong to a main avenue and as you can see they are too close (as thousands in the city)

Bye and Gracias,

Jorge  Smile

(for those of you who didn't catch Mirrodie's implied sentence ending).

Alaska Airlines,

MEX got a traffic of 1 landing or 1 take-off every 2 minutes...

There are lots of acfts, AeroMexico's fleet around 80 acfts (Dc9-MD81-2-3-7-8,b757-B767), Mexicana around 70 acft (F100,727,319,320,757) plus all other Mexican airlines... traffic from the United States which is a lot!! And many other things you can see over here.... heavy operations are during the morning very early... and then from 5 pm all the way to the morning due to high elevation and low temperatures hvy acfts got a lot of restrictions and it's a challenge to take-off during high temp hours which is 11 am to 3 pm. Also as Simon says there are delays of an hour or more for takeoff, also when there are no available gates you have to wait a long time... this could be from 30 mins to an hour and 30 mins..
