Best Photo Of A Jetstream I've Ever Seen.

Fri Sep 20, 2002 8:47 pm

I really have to give credit to Andrew for this one. I always thought of the jetstream as an aircraft "to dull" to photograph, but this picture has made me think twice. Well done!!

Just lucky he got that shot because of the job he has  Big grin

I think EGFF will especially love it, NCL and a J41 in the same pic.  Laugh out loud

Its a really nice pic, but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear - Jetstream 41s are still nasty little airplanes!

Is it the best *because* it was taken at NCL?

Its nice, but its just a rampers view of the a/c!!

First time I flew on one of these little planes was 1999 - TWA Express from PIT to JFK. We got to JKF and boarded an Aer Lingus A330 to Dublin - me wife and I... not a big walk - since TWA is nextdoor to Aer Lingus..

Nice flight it was from PIT - a little rough at times- made me wife a little nervous... Ten days later - we fly home from Dublin. We fly again on this little plane from JFK back to Pittsburgh after flying on that big A330 which I might add was a little rough - flying into the "jetstream" over the Atlantic...

Well, we boarded the little Jetstream 41, which was full to capacity, and had one of the smoothest flights of our life. Not once did we feel a bump. Unbelieveable - little planes can fly smooth - given easy weather...

PS - sorry this one should be in "Trip Reports"

Love those Jetstream 41's - especially when the camera angle is low...

Crouching down in front of J41s is *not* part of my job ! ... and I'm not a 'ramper'.

Thanks anyway Thomas

"and I'm not a 'ramper'"

I was gonna say. You'd have to be very short to get that view of a plane walking around on the ground.  Smile

Hope you don't mind if i give that technique a go the next time I'm at an airport. Big grin

EGGD, It's nice because It's unusual. Well, the angle is anyway.

Yeah sorry Andy, I meant that in another way. But you do have an advantage being in ATC to get those kind of ramp shots dont you? Anyway, keep up the great work  Big thumbs up

It's not like I've never been on restricted areas at ncl before, but security took me away before I got the chance to take any photos. Big grin (And it's true, shame on me.)
