A.Net To Support Jpeg2000?

Sun Oct 06, 2002 8:27 am

Hi Folks,

I've just been reading about the new Jpeg2000 image standard, and just wondering if there are any plans for A.Net to support this image standard any time?

Cheers

Can you post a link where the rest of us can read about the new proposed standard.

I have never heard of the JPEG 2000 standard yet.

thanks

Rez,
I have tried the demo version and it looks great! File sizes are reduced dramatically with virtually no compression artifacts at all. I loved it. The problem was nothing I had other then the viewer that came with the demo could view the file. Just do a search for jpeg 2000. I believe that is how I got it. Sure hope this becomes a standard soon.

Well I suspect that if that's the case, we won't be seeing it here, at least not until most standard browsers can display the image.

Hi all

I have recently been reading about another compression tool.

They claim that the compression of a 10mb photograph can result in a size of about 100k with very little loss in quality:

Haven't tried it yet.
