Thanks To The Forum I Got My First Pic Accepted!

Wed Nov 06, 2002 10:43 pm

I was pleasantly surprised to find a confirmation email in my inbox this morning saying that I finally got something accepted!

Over recent months I've spent many hours on this forum picking up tips and advice without which I wouldn't have got this accepted and I'd just like to say thanks for that. Buying a D30 probably had something to do with it as well!

I only dropped by Myrtle Avenue for a few minutes on my way home from work during a brief spell of sunshine and I was only trying some test shots with the new camera-I have a few other pictures from that afternoon that I might also upload, a VS343 and a JM343.

Thanks again,

Matt

Congrats, I'd say, this is a good way to start with.

Normally a rather normal shot, but with the clouds in the background it looks very interesting.

Keep it up

Fantastic begginers photo. Fantastic to be any sort of photo actually. Well done, and keep 'em coming.

Forgot to mention: that's probably my preferred angle for B747 pics.

So Matt, did you figure out the autofocus problem you were having?

Would you believe that I took that picture with the AF still not sorted out! The issue seems to be with the viewfinder, the AF is working fine but the image in the viewfinder is out of focus when I press the shutter. I'm not sure what to do with it really.

Although the angle is fairly standard I've always liked to see pictures with strong light against a dark background-and winter is great for that sort of thing!
