Spotting Places In Paris CDG And Frankfurt?

Mon Nov 11, 2002 9:21 pm

Hi all,

In my comnig trip, I will be spending the following:
a total of 4 hours in Frankfurt International Airport
a total of 7h45min in Paris Charles-de-Gaulle Airport

I can get out of both airports. Since I'll most likely be carrying my new Sony digi-camera with me, I was wondering if there are specific good spotting places I can go to during these periods of time?

Although I'm no FRA 'resident', I already had the opportunity to take pics over there. If you only have four hours, I think that it would be best to visit the viewing terrace(s?) in T1.

Hi Kay!

Feel free to contact me by email (ivicaramljak@aol.com). 4 hours should be enough for the A5 spot as well!

Ivica is correct, 4 hours are enough and you can reach the A5 spot without having a car, it is approximately 20 to 25 minutes away from Terminal 2. The observation deck is also nice, too bad that you can not visit the famous spot on runway 18.

have fun at FRA!

I'm also interested in finding spotting locations at CDG 1. I'm flying there next month. No car.

As for CDG, there are still places near the terminals that you can walk to. My favourite spot is the taxiway between the two main terminals, which is very good, especially before 1100.

Try looking at http://www.kerozen.org as this is a great source for de Gaulle. It has a map showing the spotting places. The meteo spot is no longer which was good in the afternoons.

Hopefully, somebody will post who has visited CDG more recently than me.

Take care with security
