Concorde Contrails Pic ....

Sat Nov 30, 2002 9:43 pm

Hello All ....
I took a pic of Concorde with vapour trails the otherday and uploaded it to pp.net, the response has been quite immense with people telling me to upload to a.net, but im not too convinced .....

http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.cgi?1038563351:LHR

What do you think? A.net worthy?

What was that shot with? F707 at 220mm?

Looks nice, but just not close enough for A.net I think. I like it. The white dart. lol

Hello Clovis, thanks for the feedback .... it was with my F707 at the maximum zoom on the normal lense (170mm if im correct?)
I do also think it's abit far away, looking for more feedback  Smile

To be honest, I like the picture. Although the Concorde is not too big in this picture, it comes out really well (sharpness is good for a contrail picture, good blue sky, nice white contrails,...).

I'd give it a shot!

Hi Shaun,

That's a cracking shot!

It may well be worth a try on the uploads if you can get it a little more enhanced in Photoshop or similar and increase the size somewhat!

Certainly something I've never seen before! Well done again!

Hmm, I like it. Its not that far away, considering it was only taken at 170mm (I take it that you cropped the photo loads??) its pretty close!

I like it, give it a try. For things like this there is not really much point in asking, just try it! Doesn't effect you at all if it gets rejected  Big grin.

btw. Different route??? It flies over my house most days, I assume it most fly further north than you then  Confused

You got that at 170mm? I take pics of airliners coming into PHX at around 10,000 ft with my 300mm from my backyard, and I find that the airliners show up only a little bit bigger than the concorde in your photo.

Maybe if I get a teleconverter..... Smile

Really awsome photo man. Give it a try, there are no other shots like that in the DB (concorde contrail I mean). BTW, F707 has a 190mm max zoom.

EGFF,

Great picture! You say it was taken at full zoom with the F707? I assume that includes the digital zoom? Do you have your sharpness set to -2?
