The Minolta Dimage 7i!?

Thu Dec 12, 2002 6:22 pm

Have been reading about this camera in What Digital, and want to think that this is a good buy. Don't really have any price info on it.
As I can't afford what I really would like to buy (and I will not start a war by writing what mark that is,  Big grin ), so I'm looking at other options.

Is there anyone here that uses this camera, and in that case, what are your true thoughts about it?
Any photos that can be viewed maybe?

Any info appreciated!
When in doubt, flat out!

The reviews on this camera sound pretty good! Id say go for it if you dont want to spend the extra money on a DSLR (have you thought about a second hand D30?)

Yes Wietze,

that would be the ultimate. A second hand D30. You know any shop that sell these around where we live, and what they want for it?
It would also allow me to use the lenses I have now, if I get a Canon.

When in doubt, flat out!

All my pics on this site are taken with the D7, pictures taken with the D7i are prolly very similar but less grain and better colors (my assumptions).

Sudden,

You could have a look at http://www.fotoapparatuur.nl/ It is a site where people put up classifieds... Perhaps someone is selling a D30 there. Prices are mostly around 1700 euro for a second hand D30 there.

Kay, why don't you explain why Sudden should go for the Sony 717 instead of the D7i, a reply containing just a suggestion is pretty worthless unless you write WHY you think a sertain way.

Wietse, do you work for Canon? The guy asks for info on the D7i made by Minolta and you post multiple times about the D30.

I mentionned the Sony because it has a fast lens of excellent quality and a very long battery life. But the rest is very subjective...

Jofa,

High on adrenaline or cafeine? No need to get cocky or rude with other users.

What you dont understand is that I know Sudden and I know what his wishes may be. That is why I suggested the option to look at a second hand D30. Just because I think that it would be a better Idea then a point and shoot camera. (allthough the D7i is pretty advanced)

And the reason why i posted about it twice is the question Sudden asked me. He asked if I knew a place where to get a second hand D30...

Jofa get some rest and relax...

If he worked for Canon, then he would suggest that he bought a NEW D30?

Anyway, I've heard that the 7i is pretty good, although I think these may be better:

Olympus C-700 (2.1MP, 10 X Optical zoom!)

Olympus C-720 (3.0MP, 8 X Optical zoom!)

Olmypus C-730 (3.2MP, 10 X Optical zoom!)

Have a look here: http://www.olympus.co.uk/consumer/digimg/home.cfm
And no, I don't work for Olympus. I'm 15.
