I'm trying to read the review on DPreview.com, however It's tough to get a "normal guy" answer from there. I'm really getting into photography and have only recently decided to buy a nice camera...And now that I have the money it's something I've been set on for a long time.
This is not only for aviation, but it would be great to take some shots of the F-16's at the 174th Fighter Wing once in a while
The reason for spending so much money now when I'm a "newbie" is because I can't blow 300 bucks on an "okay" slr camera to learn then once I get good spend 1000 or so on a nice dig cam. No way can I afford to do that.
Another reason for digital is that sometimes I just don't want my family or the photo store to see the photos I take... take it for what it's worth.
Also I can edit my own photos.
Is the Sony F717 that nice of a camera, or is there something better I could get for 1000? It IS ALOT of money to me, but I've been saving up just for this.
I am willing to spend up to 1000 before tax, and right away I don't need better memory because I won't be going on vacation anytime soon, so I'll always have a moment to upload the photos.
Action-Aviation, paintball, Auto racing.
