D30 Manual Mode Help

Thu Dec 26, 2002 1:00 am

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Santa brought me a D30 for me to play with! Great camera, just a couple questions.

I put the camera on manual mode, and evaluative metering. I set the shutter speed, and when I go to adjust the aperture, it says I need to decrease exposure with the little box on the "-2". But I decrease it and decrease it to its limit, but it stays on the -2 and won't have proper exposure when I take the picture-it's pitch black. I know I'm probably doing something really stupid, but feedback would be appreciated!

In that case the shutterspeed you set was too high.
What's wrong with auto?

Try decreasing also the shutter speed with the other round dial till the photometer reads correct exposure.

Thanks guys. Normally I just shoot in manual mode as I feel I have more control, but auto works just fine.
