28-300 Or 28-80 + 70-300?

Fri Dec 27, 2002 9:58 pm

Hi Folks,

after years of using a manuel camera iam about to buy an AF one. Iam eying the EOS300V plus 28-80 and 70-300. Iam a bit confused as to buy a 28-300 Sigma one??? on one hand it's easier since you don't need to change the lenses but on the other iam afraid that the zoom range will be shorter thus more difficult? the main purporse i need this camera is for ranges of about 150-300 and very rarly 28-50. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks and have a good new year

I would definitely go for both the 28-80mm PLUS the 70-300mm lens. OK, you'll have to change lenses more often as you swap between the two, but you'll almost certainly compromise quality if you go for the 28-300mm lens.

Adam
