Do you know other airports where you overfly a soccer-arena on approach?

I know Torino and Amsterdam (sometimes) but for the rest ?? ...

greetings,

Firstly, its football, not soccer  Smile
But to the point, on approach to EDI I have seen the fitba grounds of Hearts FC and Hibs FC. Descending into MAN I have seen Old Trafford, home of Mna Utd.
When you hear the noise of the Tartan Army Boys, we'll be coming down the road!

Excuse me, but some of us are American and call football soccer.

When flights are arriving into SEA runways 16L/R they fly right over Seahawk Stadium as well as SAFECO field....Best of all worlds when at a game....When departing 34L/R you will pass atop these as well....Ryan

At Hamburg the approach path is often (depends on the runway which is in use, however) directly above the "AOL-Arena" (the football/soccer stadium) and the "Color-Line-Arena" (the handball, hockey and event arena). If a football match is shown on TV, you can clearly hear the planes coming over.

Frank is correct, I noticed that too every time when I saw a live football game from Hamburg on TV.

On final approach to the 27 runways at PHL you can clearly see the Philadelphia Sports Complex, which consists of Veterans Stadium (Baseball/last year of American football for it), First Union Center (indoor arena for hockey and basketball), First Union Spectrum (lacrosse, minor league hockey, indoor soccer), and Lincoln Financial Field, which is the new football stadium slated to open in August 2003...

Also Shea Stadium in Queens, New York (baseball), is extremely close to LGA...

Raymond James Stadium (American football) in Tampa, Florida, is close to TPA

Thats about all I can think of...
