Purple Landing Lights

Tue Dec 31, 2002 2:39 pm

Hi,

Whenever I shoot (particularly at dusk)when aircraft have their landing/taxi lights on, they always turn out purple. I think this has to do with my digital camera. Any way to fix this with the camera or with photoshop?

Thanks!

What camera do you have?

Yes you can fix it in photoshop. Go to Hue/Saturation, then select Magenta, then use the eyedropper to select the exact color in the image, then bring the saturation all the way down, maybe adjust the lightness.

Hot damn, that seems to work. I'm kinda new in photoshop so I don't know all the tricks. I'm using a D30 btw..

You can also use the desaturating brush for just that area.
