PIT Spotting?

Tue Jan 21, 2003 11:13 pm

Thinking about making a trip to PIT for some spotting. As I've flown into PIT, it appears this would be tough place to spot? Also, I haven't seen to many posts on PIT or pics for that matter. Anyways, I'd like to catch the heavy A333's going to LGW & FRA? Also, is AGC spotter friendly?

Mmmmmmmm...good luck!

I cased PIT for the best part of a day and only found a few spots...one of which can be quite good if they're using the right runway.

The best spot I found is the RC Cemetary just outside the perimeter where you can shoot approach shots to runway 32 (may be way off base here so you should check this on a map).

I tried spotting over near the Courtyard Marriot hotel and they came in pretty good. Which runway is that near? I went spotting there and it was nice.

Yeah - as JetTrader says - Runway 32 can be good and the cemetary is not very spooky at all... However, this is the short runway at PIT. I have seen 767's land here on rare occasion. 28L and 28R have the heavier plane action - which CcrlR may have viewed...
