If you are looking at a DSLR and want Canon look at used D30's, and since the big Canon rumour is a replacement for the D60 look for lower priced used D60's in the near future as people jump up to the new camera.

I'd say go for a used D30 - plenty of bargains to be had there these days. Buy a reconditioned unit from a reputable dealer and you can't go wrong!  Big thumbs up

How much are we looking at for a reasonably good condition Second hand D-30?

I'm looking at some lenses for maybe £300-400, so i'd love to pick up a body for around £700-800.

I doubt it though  Sad

The going rate for a recon D30 at LCE or Jessops seems to be about £900-999. I'm sure you can find cheaper through private sales, but I think this is something that would be well worth having a warranty for.

The problem is that I don't think there are any "reasonable" condition D30s - they tend to be near mint .. or broken  Smile.

I think it will be a good while before we see any bargain D60s - indeed, based on Canon past performance in supply, you may even see D60s changing hands for above retail price if it transpires that there is no "affordable" Canon DSLR on the shelves for the next 3-6 months.

Cheers.

Hi all,

http://www.lcegroup.co.uk Have a few 2nd hand D30's, good site, it shows condition and also price.

I bought my second hand D30 through London Camera Exchange in June 2002. I payed £999 body only + 1 X 32MB memory card.

The camera had no scratches, no dust on the CMOS, no nothing, as Colin said, it was absolute mint...was well chuffed.

Have had no problems at all, had to go back to Canon for CMOS cleaning but that was through my lens changing not down to the fact it was 2nd hand.

As others have said, you could do alot worse than to pick up a used D30.

Dan, LCE have a 2nd hand D30 in 'Good' condition for £899...thats a good price.

I know there is the D60 and the other new Canon DSLR's out soon but if you want a decent digital for a good price a 2nd hand D30 is a very good buy
