How To Clean An SLR

Sun Jan 26, 2003 3:04 am

Hi friends!

Do you clean your SLR frequently?

What do you use for it (compressed air, special fluids,...)?

What do you clean and how (lens only, camera body inside,...)?

Thank You!!

I clean the outside of the camera and lenses with a damp cloth, and the glass I clean with a special lense cleaning cloth after blowing away loose dust.

How To Clean An SLR

I do the same as above... generally don't try to clean the inside with anything more than a gentle blower brush as doing so will probably make it worse not better... I learned that the hard way: my focusing screen has a couple of streaks on it from trying to clean it off! Oh well... it dosen't affect the images... but coming from experience don't try to clean the inside, take it to a professional cleaning shop if it really needs it otherwise don't bother.

The shutter is very sensitive, gently brush dust away.
