I was going to start a topic about this  Smile I was more or less on that spot (the fence holes) but at ground level and I don't remember anything so high from where a person could take photos.

Come on guys, share your secrets Big grin

lol, they were obviously in one of the control towers (from the height, I suspect the new tower). No doubt that Joe kissed somebodies ass to get this one (as I asked Don... Big grin)...!  Smokin cool

its been there for a while Luis, there was a delay in opening it up because the hurricane support beams in the cab were a problem for the controllers (it blocked their vision of parts of the field) so they changed them which took some time.

Don's remark at one of them is a 100% original (and offers a slightly different explanation)...
Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been...

Fly-K is correct on my comment. I figured out a way to climb up on top of Joey's giant ego, which varies tremendously in size from day to day and who he's around. I've seen days when if you managed to climb up on top and took photos, it would look like you shot them from the space shuttle.  Big grin

Well, as Don will confirm, I go to great lengths to get the photos the way I want them to look. If i'm guilty of of climbing too high, too fast in that regard, then I stand here in front of you, guilty as charged. As long as there is a Canon in my hand and kodachrome near by, you can truly call me guilty as charged. And Konstantin will also attest to this as will others.

You may be guilty Joe, but I won't sentence you any jailtime Big grin
You strive for the highest quality slides possible, something you taught me how to do, and I'm getting better at every time I shoot. Still much to learn though Smile Nothing wrong with that.......

Tim,
thats why Don always breaks my shoes cause when i'm out shooting as you know im super anal about the shot and that typically requires more than just stand there and shoot and hope for the best- you need to be focused, alert and imaginative to shoot high quality and if that means i have a big ego then again- i'm guilty as charged- im not changing a thing.

I think that it is typical for those of us who are serious about the hobby, that concentration is the key word.

You stand along the runway, talking about everything possible, and the second a plane is close, the conversation stops and everyone is focusing on the shot...  Smile And the way I am always climbing and walking around to compose the shot the way I want to. Always important to think leagues ahead of the actual *click*. Half of the picture is the preparation! Tim is also a great star in finding the most impossible hills or roads to get near...

For outsiders it may seem weird, but thats just the way it is.. Smile

Excellent shots, guys, very impressive!

...couldn't agree more about what's said here, about concentration while shootin'...
