I was at Hartsfield spotting from the parking deck on Saturday.
Sometimes the parking lot security guy stops me and talks to me for a sec and then goes on his way. Well, this guy told me that I had to stop taking pictures. I told him that I wasn't going to because I was on public property. He asked me for my ID, looked at it, and told me again that I had to leave. I told him that I had been going there for 2 years taking pictures and that I wasn't leaving. He was persistent and told me again that I had to leave. I was sooo mad!
I told him that I wanted his first and last name and then I wanted his managers name... and telephone number. He wouldn't give it to me. I told him that unless he got the police or his manager up there, I wasn't going to leave. So he starts talking to people on his radio giving them the information on my ID. HAHA! Then he tells me that it's okay that we're taking pictures. Okay great, we were done.
So 30 mins later, I'm still taking pictures. This Jeep stops beside me and a guy gets out and walks up to me with a badge. He said he was a sky marshal and wanted to know what I was doing out there. He questioned me for about 10 mins. I finally got a little rude and said, "look, this is public property. I'm a 16 year old kid from north GA and I have every right to be taking pictures here." So then he tells me that he can make me leave if he wants, because it's a matter of national security, but that he doesn't feel I'm a threat so he's gonna let me stay.
About this time the Lufthansa A340 took off and I, of course, missed shooting it. I was sooo mad! I told the guy that he made me miss the one plane that I came out to get, and he started laughing at me!
Just be persistent guys....
