Cheap Epson Stylus Photo 890 Printers

Wed Feb 05, 2003 11:57 pm

Guys,

Just browsing DABSXchange auction site and came across this listing

http://www.dabsxchange.com/Scripts/ListingInfo.asp?LotNo=22994760

Current bid price was £71. They're brand new, from Epson and with the standard 12 month warranty. If bid price goes over 85 notes they'll be delivery free as well! Auction ends this evening.

I've used dabsXchange [big UK computer vendor for those of u that don't know] loads of times without trouble. [stick to the dabs.com listings though]

I actually have an 890 [as do a lot of others on the site] and it really is an excellent printer.

And no, I don't have shares in dabs Big grin

You could have bought brand new 895's for around £70 I think just before Christmas. I have the 895 and it's a great A4 printer. However I'm now thinking about A3 and the Canon S9000 is the favourite based on the reviews of the Epson A3 printers.

737,
Before running out and buying that Canon 9000, you may want to read through this completely.

http://drycreekphoto.com/PrintTest/PrintTest.htm

It may print a nice looking image, but it does have some issues if you want to keep the prints for very long.

Just FYI

Thanks, I had read a fair bit about the Canon S9000 and the Epson A3 printers. I had considered the Epson 1290 but I after reading a few reviews was moving towards the S9000.

If I was to buy a new printer would anyone be interested in my Epson 895 with a spare colour cartridge? Due to lack of space a new printer and my current one would make things interesting.
