Canon D60 Help Needed II

Wed Feb 19, 2003 7:37 am

I have this dot in every image now, does this means I have to clean the sensor?

it's in the middle of the 4 red dots.

Many thanks

It's just a "mirage".  Big thumbs up

Seriously, on how many images for how long? A single day or longer?

I had a dot once for every image I shot in one day and then it was gone the next. Possibly a water condensation droplet. I have a D30.

What's another word for thesaurus?

Luis,
I have one like that and I just clone it out. As long as it is just one, no problem.
If I get more, well, time to clean.

That is dust or a water spot for sure. Sometimes dust will move around on the sensor and show up in different places. Try a bulb type blower first before resorting to the chemical wipe.

Why do I cringe every time I read recommendations advising it's okay to clean the sensor?
I've read too many horror stories elsewhere.
Unless you know exactly what you're doing, I would leave it to the experts...

Just put it into sensor cleaning mode...and use a commercially available blower and blow some air onto the sensor...has worked 3 times out of 4 for me when I have had foriegn bodies on my sensor.

Cleaning the sensor is not a problem as long as you are sensible

Yes, I guess it will be rejected because it's not showing all the aircraft  Smile

Well, thanks a lot everybody for your help, I'll think about this and see what to do, in case I do something.
