Need Help With An OLD Camera-Adams

Fri Feb 28, 2003 5:20 am

Okay, not aviation, but I came across my Dad's old 35mm camera while going through his stuff. (yeah, memories....) anyway, the camera is an Adams Pronto 35mm. Nice basic manual camera. But as I was tinkering with it I found that there is a roll of film in it! It has probably not been used in 20 years or more. I figured out how to rewind the film, but I can't open the body. Obviously I don't want to force it. Anyone out there know anything about this type of camera? Know how to open it? Any help here or via email to zeljeznjak1@cox.net appreciated greatly!!

Thanks Tony

Many old cameras are opened by lifting (pulling) the entire wheel that rewinds the film, up from the camera.

Sorry I can't help you with getting the door opened, but I think it is cool that you may have found a small time capsule full of memories. If I were you, I would take it to a good shop and let them look at it. Let us know what the shots are of.

Can you upload an image of the camera? Perhaps being able to see it will help others help you? Was your Dad an aircraft spotter?
