Ophoto

Tue Mar 04, 2003 9:27 am

Hello all you Digital guys!

I have a Question concerning Ophoto. How are the prints they produced from Digital? I have been looking into this service for a while now, and wondered what all you have thought, if you have gotten some of your aircraft photos from Digital printed from them?

Thanks

Oh, also I get my Digital Prints done in 8X12's, not 8X10's. Can Ophoto deliver 8X12's?

8X10's are not full frame shots, and are cropped, most of the time cutting off part of the aircraft. I feel 8X12's with my large albumn offer the greatest results.

Thanks

Aaron- I have had a few prints done by Ophoto. Not too bad and a decent price. But I have found that if I want quick and cheap Costco does a pretty fair job all the way up to 12x18. Quality control is not always the best, you really have to be specific and it works better if you can grab the guy who is actually doing the printing so they don't crop noses/tails etc...

For really high quality I use a place in downtown San Diego. Not cheap, but the quality is great. (For San Diegan's or anyone needing a quality photo place down here, Nelson Photo...)

Aaron,

I use Ophoto often and have never been dissapointed. I had a 20x24 done of the USN Blue Angels 2100x1600 6mp fine and it looks terrific hanging on my wall. You cant hardly see a pixel.

Try them out...Im sure you'll be pleased.

Randy,
How did you get a 20x24 from a 2100x1600? Did you specify that crop ratio? I also see where they offer 16x20 and 20x30, but not 20x24...

just curious.

Yes....you are correct it was a 20x30. Ive had a long day today and couldnt tell a 2x4 from a 4x6 if you know what I mean. There is a little white on the top and bottom.
