Mr. SoAndSo Of SomeCity Aviation Photography..Eh?

Thu Mar 13, 2003 12:02 pm

Hi!

I love looking through the new updates and more and more, I am seeing somebody's name attatched to a little phrase, like

"Peter Unmuth/Vienna Aviation Photography"
(Just an example..... Peter, I love your pics)

I was curious exactly what the "City Aviation Photography" thing meant. Is it a club that you join.. one you are invited to? Requirements? Or do you just tack it on there for the thrill?

I have always wondered about this and would love some clarification
Thanks
Ben Kaufman
JBLUA320...... who has a whopping ONE photo on the db!!

(PS.. I dont exactly like the ring.. Ben Kaufman/Liberty Aviation....sounds cheesy, dont you think?)

Sounds a bit 'elitist' to me.

Long live the solitary 'Riff-Raff' photographer!

If you are a legitimate business, great, go ahead and use it. Otherwise, it just seems like a way to try and add importance for one reason or another. But yeah, it seems like everytime I look through the database I find a new "Joe Blow/Aviation Photography of Timbuktu" or "John Doe/Acme Aviation"...huh? Big grin

Oh well, whatever floats your boat.

To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home

I kind of like "SPOT THIS". It has that attitude that I'd like to display to certain security people who dont want us around: when I was taking pics inside the ATL terminal and the security guy came up and said "you cant be taking pictures here..." as he walked away I so badly wanted to say, "SPOT THIS" combined with a certain gesture. But I didn't.

Freelance aviation photography is a legitimate business, and SPOT THIS! is what I call mine.

SPOT THIS! was one of the original "groups". It's really just a bunch of close friends who share an obsession for aviation photography, and a very odd sense of humor. Basically, we're just trying to have a good time with this. That's it. No, we're not trying to sound important. It's just one of those things that you won't understand unless you are part of it.

There are actually more members than what is listed on a.net. Whether they want to admit to it or not is another story.  Big grin
