More Paranoia For The Mix At KSEA......

Wed Apr 02, 2003 2:48 am

This is a article I found on the KIROTV Channel 7 in SEA.

http://www.kirotv.com/news/2077750/detail.html

I guess it could be reasonable to assume that spotting days at SEA will soon be over and thus by default the terrorist will win another battle.

There is no way at all to prevent an attack without arming the plane with a way to deter the missle. You cannot lock down a 5 mile radius around all airports.

Better enjoy your spotting while you can. After the next attack happens it'll be all over. My gut feeling is, someone will attempt such an attack sometime as they have vowed to bring the battle from the desert to our land. But I doubt they will try it from such an obvious area as a spotting area.
Authorities will still try to drive out all spotters even though spotters can be an extra set of eyes - valuable.

I think the ones we may have to worry about is the press...

"Such rockets have shot down 24 airliners in the past 25 years, killing 640 people"

Wha the hell is he talking about????????

As long as misinformation like that is spread we will fight an uphill battle.

I agree spotting days are over in the US. With the media spreading misinformation we'll never win the fight to watch airplanes. Funny thing is now that they have run the spotters and photographers out, it's now made the airport area open to those people who wish to do harm. I don't think too many people are gonna stand by and watch as someone assembles a mobile missile launcher. Now the terriorist have just what they want! What is next blacking out the windows in airports so we can never even see the plane were about to board? As long as the American people keep feeding off this stuff, the media will keep bringing it to them. Sorry to say but the Sunday afternoon of taking your kids to the airport to watch airplanes is over.

What is interesting about the video is the last 30 second they pan and zoom in at some of the apartment buildings across from the airport(within a mile) and the gentleman saying all that matters is if you can see the aircraft.

Does this mean that they will need to close those down to eliminate a threat????.

Im going to jot a e-mail off to Amy Clancey of KIRO and ask her to send me her sources for the number of aircraft shot down.

I believe the numbers they are quoting are worldwide shoot-downs involving commercials airliners, even in a time of war. During the Afghan/USSR war several Russian planes were brought down with Stinger missiles.

shot down 24 airliners in the past 25 years, killing 640 people... hmm maybe the US gov will ban cars next! Is this another mad scheme? If 9/11 had been with trucks full of explosives would they be stopping truck spotting and banning banning trucks fro city centres?
