An absolute beaut!! Shame alot of the time the really great shots don't get noticed... Only 400+ hits?? I definetely viewed it when I saw!!!

I like the whole crosswind component too.

Look at the 737(?) in the background, as far as I know there is only one runway at Faro and the aircraft is not on the centerline and crabbing.

The type of photo that makes you wonder why you are not on board an airplane, lifting off into the setting sun to parts unknown....The artistry behind the photography.

A yes, I figured that was what you meant Dan, but even during crosswind you should be aligned on the ILS. I guess it's on a visual approach.

Looks like he might be more than 3 miles out, not aligned with the ILS yet??

Thanks Gary for pointing out this photo, and thanks all for your kind comments.

To be honest, I was expecting more views on this photo, sometimes I don't understand what people like to see but I also think this photo was diluted in the middle of other uploads. I'm not complaining, it was just bad luck.

Regarding the 737 on short final, there's no ILS for rwy 10 at Faro, that was a visual approach as Jan mentioned, quite usual around here, no crosswinds at that time.

I think this happens with everybody, sometimes we make photos that become special to us, our favorites, this is my favorite of the moment.

thanks
Luis

I'm just listening to the right kind of music to appreciate that photo... Love What a wallpaper.

And, Luis, after reading the comment of this photo, I can't think anything but "Who cares (about pollution)?"
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Isn't that shot a reason why we all love aviation?

Perfect sunset shot and composition, Luis and thanks for sharing it with us.
Thanks also to Gary, this shot was uploaded last weekend within a whole bunch of uploads, easy to miss for the people with slow internet connection, but a very good job of the screeners!

Hi all

Luis, I know a good picture when I see it so it was my duty to point it out  Smile

At my local, I cannot get shots like this due to the position of the runway....what I mean is the runway runs almost north/south and the sun sets in the west  Sad

Hi all,

I'm a little bit late, but well done Luis!

Appreciated your help with regards to the Canon lens sample shots as well in the previous thread... You certainly know how to make the 28-135 work for you!

Regards,

Paul.
