Air Atlantique Group

Fri May 02, 2003 5:30 pm

I wonder if the screeners could confirm I am doing right in classifying all the different arms of this company under the drop down menu of Air Atlantique.

We have:

Air Atlantique
Atlantic Reconnaissance
Atlantic Flight Training
Atlantic Express

There is a post by Andrew some where on the board about the correct way to enter info.

Im sure (without looking) for the example you posted its Atlantic Express (Air Atlantique) the titles on the aircraft take preferance over the operator, if there were no titles then its the other way around Air Atlantique (Atlantic Express)

Andrew sorry if I got it wrong  Wink/being sarcastic

Paul,

If you do a search say just on the aircraft I have posted G-BUKA you will find it listed as:

Air Atlantique
Atlantic Express
Atlantic Airlines
Air Atlantic
Atlantic Air Transport

I would have thought it wise to group them all under the airlines group name of Air Atlantique myself rather than have this mess on the database.

Yes Derek, but that's only because you know that Atlantic Express is part of the Air Atlantique group. Not everyone does - whilst the names Atlantic and Atlantique are similar, they are different enough that anyone who didn't know might reasonably assume them to be different operations. How much research should a photographer do? As Paul suggested, Andrew posted a pretty clear message about how airlines should be recorded which is focused on what is painted on teh side of the airplane, and I think we now should stick to that.

Andy

PS: You were lucky with that Metro picture - I'd have rejected it badinfo! Big grin

Andy

I personally think they would all be better under one name rather than the many different names they have at the moment.

Many of this airlines aircraft operate under various arms of the group throughout the year but all come under the Air Atlantique group at the end of the day.

When you have a few minutes put "Atlantic Airways" in the search airline and see what you get up  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

From now on I will do as you say but it still does not solve the database problem does it?

Only trying to help the site  Smile
