D60 And CF - Compatible Brands Please

Mon May 12, 2003 10:05 pm

This is to all you D60 users out there, past and present.

I currenntly use a 1Gb IBM Microdrive and a 128Mb Lexar CF card with my D60.
I've also tried a Jenoptik 128Mb card which didn't work at all with my D60 and was also "invisible" to my Lexar CF reader hooked up to my PC.

I'm looking to buy a little extra storage and I'd like to take advantage of the deals to be had online. Can you guys please post here the brands you have used without problems in your D60's.

Two brands where I have seen good prices are SanDisk and Dane-Elec - are these any good for instance...?

Thanks!
Dean

Good question Dean, I have found a very good UK price and also wonder about brand quality and how much it matters, interesting to see what people say

Anyone heard of Generic CF cards?

Dean what prices have you found for 256mb cards if I can ask?

Dean,

I have three Sandisk compact flash cards - one 256MB and two 1GB cards. In fact, I have only Sandisk cards. I've had no problems with any of them so far.

Ok Andy, thanks for that. I'd assume SanDisk worked most places since they're one of the CF founders!

Ben - I've found a site does SanDisk 256Mb for 59.00 GBP, Dane-Elec for 43.80  Big thumbs up

Cheers,
Dean

Yup .... if you shop around you can get CF cards at fantastic prices..

for example i got a 256mb Samsung 12x for £35 inc postage !

just bought a 512mb Sandisk for £ 70 all in ...

both good prices

have a look at Ebay .... if you are unsure about using Ebay always look at the feedback , its a good way of seeing if they are reputable

cheers all

I use Sandisk 256mb (x2) 1 year, 20K plus shots, no problems. I more recently bought a SanDisk Ultra 512mb - the extra price of the Ultra is well worth it - speeds up camera writes by about 50%
