Question For All MAN Photographers

Mon May 19, 2003 8:05 pm

First of all I'd like to say a big 'thank you' for all the excellent photos you all send to A.net, I'm not a photographer myself but have grown up around MAN and still get down there whenever I can (usually south side with a deck chair & a pair of bins !).
I've got a few questions about the photos you take, the first is why bother take photos of the same aircraft again and again ?
Looking at MAN's photos for example there must be hundred's of almost identical images shot day after day. Is there a reason for this (I know there are limited aircaft types to shoot at MAN but why bother if the results are exactly the same ?)

Secondly and related to the first question is why are there very few photos of what I (as a spotter not a photographer) would class as 'interesting' scenes ?
By that I mean diversions into Manchester (must have been literally hundreds over the years) - Lufthansa, KLM & Swiss Air 747 have all visited several times in the past, was it just bad luck that none of you guys were around on those days ?

Now don't get me wrong, you all do a sterling job and I love checking what's been snapped at MAN (especially as I'm now stuck down south), so keep it up and I'd be interested to hear your answers !

See you on the 28th  Big grin
