Fri Jun 20, 2003 8:07 am

Any A.net shooters get shots of the arrival of F-BVFA at Dulles?

Yup! A few of us were out there. Hopefully my shots came out good but I won't find out for another few days (when the slides are back). I'll post some links once they are on my site.

Any pomp and circumstance or did it just taxi quietly (metaphorically speaking) to some hangar?

Great shot by Michal. I love the visible reversed thrust.

Well, close to it but not quite.

She was cleared from 10,000 feet down to 5,000 and then right into the approach. The landing was straight in on 19L. After touchdown she taxied off the runway and onto taxiway Kilo (the media was stationed on highspeed K3 so they were between the Concorde as she landed and taxied).

After taxing past the media she turned left onto Alpha or Bravo, past the tower, left on Zulu and up to the new parking pad near runway 30. There she will stay until she’s moved inside the museum building sometime before opening.

If you happed to be in terminal C/D terminal you can get a good view of her parked on the pad although the light poles will get in the way of any decent photo.
