Please Help - Lost Radio/scanner At Miami

Mon Jun 30, 2003 2:06 pm

Today I was spotting at MIA at the viewing area and when I decided to leave around 6PM or so I ran into the customs building first before leaving to use the restrooms and buy a snack- anyway, somewhere along the line I got distracted and left my aviation scanner/radio hanging on the fence near a photo hole and left without it  Sad Didn't realize my scanner was missing until I got home and when I went all the way back to the viewing area my scanner wasn't there anymore.

Anyway- I'm hoping the two spotters that were left there saw it and took it off the fence- if you guys are reading this please drop me an email or post here I'd really appreciate it! You may email me at cessna pilot88@hotmail.com (without the space.. thats just so the spam bots don't pick it up).

thanks very much if you guys are out there!

Strange, I jsut bought a scanner off of E-Bay from some dude in Florida for 8 bucks.

No, but seriously, good luck. I know what it's like to lose an importnat piece of equipment.

Good luck.

Ok, if this was in Nebraska I could maybe see you getting it back....but Miami.....just being realistic (just a joke everyone).  Big grin

Good luck, I know how expensive that is....maybe you'll see them again (not like they would fess up anyways).

LOL, jeeez Phil- how much can I buy it back from ya? While you're at it do you have the address of the seller? Maybe you can supply me with a bat and a plane ticket as well?  Big grin

Justin, I hope I see them again too- but I wasn't implying they stole it, more like hoping they picked it up knowing someone else might take it later on and they might be able to get in touch with me or one of the other guys there.

Thanks for the luck guys  Smokin cool

Burn~~~

Haha, really sorry to hear Serge. It must be a pain to lose a scanner at this airport. Replacement won't be cheap but lets hope that some of the fellow spotters you were with or some nice folk who knows this site retrieved your scanner.

Serge,

I do feel your pain and hope you find your scanner.
Did you think about contacting the airport lost and found?
Maybe, if possible, go back out to that area and put up
some reward posters?

Just a few thoughts......good luck!

Hey Bo, Jay.

Yeah, I'm hoping one of the local spotters might find something out about it. If not, I'm basically going to have to buy a new scanner as I'm back in my small town again (can't put up the reward posters but good idea Jay). Oh well... I guess I'll just move on and hope someday someone can get in touch with me about it.

If someone did take it that has no intention of returning it and is reading this- better watch out guys, its a small world  Smile What goes around eventually will come around. (not trying to imply anything bad about anyone on this site, just saying its so global whoever took it might be reading this).

thanks for the help all,
Serge (good news is the price is coming down on some of these scanners)
