Photos From The Top Of Pan Am Building/parking Lot

Thu Jul 03, 2003 1:28 pm

Considering how much time I spend there as a child, I haven;t seen many images here from that vantage point.

Any photographers here upload them regularly?

I've seen some on here Mario...but more often pix taken from inside the building. As great as it was, always thought it was a late 80s makeshift opportunity.

The parking lot was hit-and-miss in terms of enforcement of loitering and in some of those years they did clever things like insert long plastic strips interlocking between the chain link... ever helpful.... I did remember some guys climbing up on top of the roof of elevator/exit structures and taking some shots from the higher vantage point. They must have some very nice images, whoever they are.

Spent a week during Christmas break (1984) when I was 16 at the Worldport! Flew down on a pass from Toronto with a friend with only a $150. to spend. Slept at the IAB and watched, listened, and took many slides from the roof. And after several attempts got a visit up to the Tower and got a quick few shots from up there! Just new to this forum and I will slowly start uploading some of my 20,000 odd slides! Including some great stuff from the Worldport roof.

Regards,

Cyrus

Joe:
Glad you enjoyed the TMA 747; that was the only time I ever saw it. See you in Columbus this week?
