Could well be on westerlies, and if so they will be landing on 27L until 3pm each day until sunday. After 3pm they use 27R landing. If easterlies, 09L for 95% of movements coming in. Easterlies are not that easy, but I think its still a runner. Hope somebody can advise.
Myrtle Avenue is your best bet on westerly landings on 27L. You can either park in that street if in a car, or catch a free bus (any bus) from Central Area (ot T4
) to Hatton Cross Underground station. From there its a five minute walk in a south westerly direction along the main road and you'll soon see a green.
Landing shots are just about all you can get, but if you have a really long lens it may be worth trying for some impressive shots of Jumbos after they're airborne. Hot weather means a long take off and a slow climb so maybe you can try for this. I think the playing fields of a local school in Bedfont Avenue (?) are OK
for this on easterly take offs.
for a local street map. That covers Aberdeen as well
